The Woman King opens with $19 million; Moonage Dream's limited run proves success; Barbarian reached double its budget.

Coming straight in at the top this week, The Woman King topped the charts with an impressive $19 million opening weekend. Starring Viola Davis, the all-female led movie started the weekend off with $1.7 million in Thursday night previews, leading into a $6.85 million first day Friday. Not only did it come in with an impressive weekend, The Woman King also bagged itself a A+ cinema score.
Also releasing this week was Ti West's prequel to X, Pearl and the Searchlight whodunit See How They Run. Both of which bringing in a similar amount at around $3.1 million. Mia Roth reprises her role in the X prequel and the latest whodunit has an ensembled cast including Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan.
In its second weekend at the box office, Barbarian took in approximately $6.3 million (-40.3%). The horror film starring Bill Skarsgård now stands at around $20.9 million domestic, and without a large international release as yet, stands good stead against its $10.5 million budget.
Elsewhere, Brett Morgens David Bowie biopic Moonage Daydream took in around $1.2 million on a limited 170 screen special Imax release, making that an impressive average of just over $7000 per location.
