FILM FOCUS NEWSROOM: WEEK 34

Our weekly roundup of all entertainment news that has come to light this current week!

- Ezra Miller has met with Warner Brothers to talk out how he can keep negative attention away from the upcoming The Flash, and how they can get back on track before the films release.


- After only one season Netflix has cancelled the Resident Evil series. It comes only 6 weeks after the season one release.


- After only just one episode released, HBO's House of the Dragon has been renewed for a second series


- Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence is set to direct the film adaptation of the well-loved game Bioshock. The film will be coming to Netflix.

- Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast in The Boys Season 4. The Walking Dead star joins the much celebrated Amazon original series for its latest season.


- Netflix' The Umbrella Academy has been renewed for a forth and final season of the show, after it's successful three season run so far.


- Euphoria Star Barbie Ferreira is leaving the show after the hit HBO series first 2 seasons. Ferreira plays high schooler at Hernandez and stated "I'm having to say a very teary goodbye" on her announcement on Instagram.


- Ewan McGregor will star in Paramount+ series Gentleman in Moscow and will play Count Alexander Rostov. The drama is an adaptation of Amor Towles' best selling novel.


- Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Shazam! Fury of the Gods are changing release dates to December 25, 2023 and March 17, 2023 respectively.


- Universal will be sending Halloween Kills day-and-date to cinemas and Peacock. The last entry in the Halloween franchise will be releases on October 14.


- The premiere of HBO's House of the Dragon pulled in a record audience upon release. Gone are the worries of the Game of Thrones fandoms potential boycott worries after the season 8 disappointment.

- Netflix has set a date for the much anticipated Knives Out sequel. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is set to release on the streaming platform December 23.


- Cineworld Group has confirmed that it is considering filing for bankruptcy as the company battles with lower admissions and the limited film slate.
