TOP GUN MAVERICK PASSES 1 BILLION DOLLARS

Written by Elliot Lines

Looking back at the start of the year, there would be some people that were most certainly looking forward to a sequel to Top Gun (1986), but there were questions about the need for it. After a few years of push backs (Covid related) and a copious amount of trailers we sit here today reaping, somewhat surprisingly, the success of Top Gun Maverick.

If you'd have told me 6 months ago that the new Tom Cruise lega-sequel was to outshine, let alone compete with the likes of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse Of Madness, Jurassic World Dominion or The Batman, I would've questioned you're sanity. But the world of mouth has clearly had a massive affect and rightly so. Top Gun Maverick currently has some of the highest Rotten Tomatoes scores of the year with critics at 97% and an audience score of an incredible 99%.

It looks as though this will be up there on box office by the end of the year, and deservedly so. I think It's safe to say that Top Gun Maverick has taken plenty of breaths away.
