Since James Gunn and Peter Safran were unveiled as the new driving force behind the DC franchise, fans all over have been wanting an announcement to see the direction of the DC universe, today is that day.

DC Studios Co-Chairmen/Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have announced what will be the first slate of movies and TV in the "new" DC universe. The current DC franchise will conclude with it's final 4 films; Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Seemingly taking the Marvel model, this first wave of movies/TV will be titled Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters and will comprise of a total of 5 movies; Superman: Legacy, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing, and The Authority. It will also include 5 TV shows; Creature Commandos, Booster Gold, Paradise Lost, Waller, and Lanterns. There will also be DC Elseworlds, which will include the likes of The Batman Part II and Joker: Folie a Deux.

Superman: Legacy
The start of the DCU. The movie will follow the younger days of Clark Kent, yet won't be an origin story. With James Gunn set to write it is yet clear if he will himself direct also.

First introduced at DC Comics in 1999, The Authority is a team of superheroes that have a different approach to saving the world.

The Brave and the Bold
This will be a Batman film that will focus on his relationship with Robin. Robert Pattinson and Ben Affleck will not be reprising the role of Batman for this movie.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
Based on the comic book run of the same name. This will be a first solo film for the cousin of Superman.

Swamp Thing
Another attempt at Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, which will dive into the horror aspect.

Joker: Folie a Deux
Sequel to Joker (2019). Joaquin Phoenix is set to reprise the role with Lady Gaga joining the cast.

The first animation to the slate. This will see a team of military superheroes fighting Nazi's during World War II, one difference they will be a Vampire, Werewolf and Frankenstein's monster.
