Release Details

Label: STUDIOCANAL

Formats: 4K UHD & Blu-ray

Release Date: May 18, 2026

Celebrating the film’s 30th anniversary, the new release presents a brand-new 4K restoration of the Oscar-winning drama, giving audiences the chance to revisit Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue’s extraordinary performances with enhanced picture quality and newly restored detail.

Adapted from John O’Brien’s semi-autobiographical novel, Leaving Las Vegas follows Ben Sanderson, a self-destructive Hollywood screenwriter who heads to Las Vegas intending to drink himself to death. There, he forms an unexpected and deeply human connection with Sera, a sex worker struggling to survive the emotional brutality of her world. The result is a heart-breaking portrait of addiction, loneliness, and fragile companionship that remains as powerful today as it was upon release.

The new 4K restoration debuted at the Berlin International Film Festival before making its way to home audiences, with STUDIOCANAL overseeing the release.

The brand new 4K UHD & Blu-Ray editions will include a new audio commentary with Mike Figgis, a new deleted scene with Jessica Alba, ‘The Shoot’ documentary by Mike Figgis, original interviews, B-Roll, a ‘Making of’ featurette and a new 20-page booklet.

Cage’s towering performance as Ben earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor, while Elisabeth Shue received widespread acclaim — and an Oscar nomination — for her role as Sera. Over the decades, the film has cemented itself as one of the defining independent dramas of the era and arguably one of Cage’s finest performances.

Leaving Las Vegas is out now on 4K UHD and Blu-ray.
