What We Know So Far
Welcome to Derry is a prequel series set in 1962, expanding on the lore of Stephen King's "It" universe, specifically focusing on Pennywise the clown and the town's horrific history. The series will explore the events leading up to the first It movie (set in 1988). Including the burning of the Black Spot, a local nightclub, which is heavily implied to have been influenced by Pennywise and will be a key event in the series. It will also delve into the origins of Pennywise and the town's history of catastrophic events linked to his awakenings. Themes of friendship, loss and the power of unified belief and the use of fear as a weapon will be touched upon. The series aims to connect the dots between the cosmic evil and the clown lurking in their town.
