TV REVIEW | LOKI: EPISODE 1

GLORIOUS PURPOSE

The Prince of mischief is back with us. Infinity War left us with the feeling that we'd never see him again but after the events of Endgame, we had to find out where Loki disappeared too.

Written by Elliot Lines

Straight off the bat, we head to that exact moment he disappeared. Appearing in a desert we are immediately introduced to the TVA or the Time Variant Agency, an organisation that is set on preserving the sacred timeline.

The start of the series shows us a glimpse of how this organisation works. Such an idea as the TVA can expand the MCU into all different directions, but it also poses plenty of questions, with Wandavision fans should be used to that by now.

This episode puts Loki on trial for crimes against the timeline, and introduces Morbious (Owen Wilson) to the frame. He seems to see something else in Loki but in the process shows him what becomes of him if he sticks to this path. You can tell immediately these two are going to form a fantastic on screen duo.

Not too much actually happens here in the way of action, but the platform it is setting is paramount to where the MCU can go. This episode shows us the TVA and sets up Loki's role within it, where it'll go is anyone's guess.
