That’s a wrap on Wednesday season 2 with the last 4 episodes now streaming on Netflix. The events provide a fun-loving conclusion to the various storylines established in part one and prepares for even more deadly secrets, family chaos and monster mayhem in Season 3.

What happened in Wednesday Season 2 Part One?

In Part One viewers were reunited with our favourite polar opposite kooky duo Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) and Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) as they start their second year at Nevermore Academy. Along with some familiar faces returning such as the Gorgan Ajax (Georgie Farmer) the Siran Bianca (Joy Sunday) and Hyde Tyler (Hunter Doohan). It raised the stakes (and even the dead) with its ramped-up chaos but comes to a screeching holt with Wednesday being flung out of a window. Talk about drama!

What is Wednesday Season Two Part Two about?

The final four episodes pick straight up from where part one ended. We see Wednesday wake up from her coma and greeted by her new spirit guide: Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie) in some ironic fairy godmother twist. Scolding her for every arrogant, selfish decision but not without some much-needed guidance. Wednesday thwarts Larissa at every turn fully believing the only way to reverse the premonition of Enid’s death is to kill Tyler once and for all. In the end her efforts fail when unexpected dangers become bigger than she thought possible.

What’s particularly great about this season is the way every single character gets a moment to spread their wings. It causes disarray in places, having various subplots happening at once, but they coalesce with decent and satisfying outcomes. We finally understand what Principal Dort (Steve Buscemi) is up to, his sleezy ulterior motives becoming his undoing. Agnes (Evie Templeton) plays an even bigger role, using her invisibility power to be the trick up Wednesday’s sleeve. The zombie Slurp (Owen Painter) takes on a much more integral role, brains are very useful, I guess! Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta Jones) and Gomez Addams (Luiz Guzman) past crawls from the depths of hell to haunt them and their children and Thing finally figures out where he came from.

Wednesdays second season continues to serve macabre genius, with Jenna Ortega shining as the deadpan faced protagonist, her dark wit and creepy charm never missing a beat. One episode sets up a “Freaky Friday” theme, giving Ortega and Myers the opportunity to try on different personas, it is heaps of fun. BLACKPINK playing in the background only makes it funnier! Their friendship is unbreakable; their bond grows stronger overcoming every obstacle and it makes the show all the more engaging. Truly delightful television.

The show tends to focus a lot more on deep tissue matters. We see that with Tyler and his battle with the monster inside of him. All he feels is vengeance for Wednesday, Thornhill and his father, ultimately making it harder for him to keep control of his sanity. Without a master he is surely to go insane. Thats when an opportunity makes itself known, giving him a chance to find a new home with a new pack, maybe? We will no doubt see his character play an even bigger part in the next season.

Is Wednesday part two worth watching?

Wednesday Season 2 is a boat load of supernatural goodness. It takes on zombies, Lady Gaga makes a short but sweet cameo and we are surprised with another deadly dance number. Cases are solved, the horrors don’t stop, and the characters are well written and strong. What more could you ask for? Naturally, the wait between seasons could take a while but let’s hope our favourite Outcasts come back sooner, rather than later.
