The fourth season of Amazon’s mega-hit crowd pleaser, hosted by Jeremy Clarkson. Clarkson’s Farm absolutely took households by storm upon its release four years ago. By shining the spotlight on genuinely fascinating, interesting and important areas of farming, all the while also being a consistently funny, entertaining and wholesome experience which showcased a different side to Clarkson and introduced the world to his tight-knit Diddly Squat community.

As we now arrive at his fourth season (with episodes 1-4 arriving on the 23rd May, followed by two more on the 30th, culminating in the final duo on the 6th June) it’s like visiting/checking in on neighbours or relatives. Opening on Clarkson trapsing over to his pig pen in the soaking rain pleading to them to listen to his instructions followed by him immediately getting stuck in the mud brought a sense of welcome and fittingly expected deja vu.

Can Jeremy Handle the Farm Without Kaleb?

The hook for Eps 1 & 2, is that Kaleb is out on tour (having become a successful TV personality and author swiftly after the show’s first season), leaving Jeremy purely as a solo act in his absence… which is going as smoothly as expected. Tractor troubles, a messy and hectic barnyard, the barrage of everyday paperwork… the list continues. Enter Harriet, a young, snappy, witty assistant who showcases her farming escapades through TikTok (which both Clarkson and Charlie are baffled by). She injects fun and (like Kaleb) a pure unfiltered genuine outlook on life, as well as touching upon the severity of loneliness and mental health struggles in farmers both young and old.

Fountain of Youth review

The overarching ‘goal’ of this season focuses upon Clarkson’s project to purchase a pub and convert it to include the combined businesses of a farm shop and butchers shop. Queue a tour of a myriad of fantastic, ancient and personality filled country pubs for sale… as well as few with some off-kilter, bizarre and smelly surprises. Of course, as expected, trouble brews when councils get involved and one particular and baffling hurdle in the form of a picnic area clause which he will face in Episode 5.

Is Clarkson’s Farm Season 4 Worth Watching?

The first 4 episodes of Clarkson’s Farm Season 4, are an easy viewing joy and as informative, funny (particularly when centred around the purchasing of a new tractor) and warm as expected. Looking forward to the rest!
