The Story
Set in Texas, 1918, Pearl Douglas lives on a family farm under the watchful eye of her overbearing mother while longing to escape to the stage. When a charming projectionist encourages her to audition for a touring dance company, she is finally given a chance at fame. But as dreams of stardom fade, obsession and violence consume Pearl, turning ambition into murder.

The Story
